NHS Million poster project - we love the NHS!

We are so proud to have teamed up with artists from around the UK to bring you lots of poster designs for you to print and colour in at home.

Our friends and family have been sending us photos of the artwork they have been putting up in their windows, which has been so cheering to see. We know from experience that it can be tough to unwind with all the coronavirus news in the background, and that these art projects can help block it out for a while. We thought it was a great time to combine the nation’s love for the NHS with some stay-at-home activities, and asked these wonderful artists to help us out.

All these artists volunteered their time and skills, and we would strongly urge you to check out their social media links and buy their work where you can.

Please send us photos of your completed artwork on Twitter and Instagram and Facebook, and we will do our best to share them on. Use the hashtag #NHSMillion to help spread the word!

If you are an artist and would like to be involved in future poster projects, please send a link to your portfolio to info@nhsmillion.co.uk and use the subject line ‘artist’. Thank you!

We would like to thank Beth for helping to coordinate this project. Beth says “the NHS is an incredible institution and we absolutely should be celebrating and supporting their work. We have American friends and family and know firsthand the costs and stress that comes from not having healthcare like ours. The NHS has always looked after my family. If it’s not too cheeky, I’d like to dedicate this to Elizabeth, Jo, Monica, Dr P and everyone else who has looked after us and provided the best care. Thank you.”

Why do you love the NHS?

My mother has a medical background and currently my sister is a nurse (Instagram - @caren_kaur) and seeing the dedication she puts in to see to others before herself is admiring. For me as an artist, it was important to do what I can in the best way I know I can get my message across, which is my artwork. Seeing the drive my sister has in her profession gives me belief on how her colleagues and staff work and feel proud to know we have such a system in place. Love and support to all those risking their lives on a daily basis.

Working with some of the world’s biggest brands creating bespoke artworks, Vic has worked all over the world with his pens and paints making extraordinary pieces that defy the imagination with his unique style.

Why do you love the NHS?

Working on large murals, all by hand, is incredibly physically demanding, and Vic has had his fair share of physical issues, from knee, back and eye problems as well as terrible tennis elbow. The NHS and his local hospital at Kings have not only been so incredible in helping and treating but also being human and patient. It was an honour to be involved in the NHSMillion campaign at this time, to do a little something with huge thanks to the invaluable staff throughout.
