Over the past five years we’ve led countless initiatives to help boost the morale of NHS staff.

From a Christmas Number One to an ITV documentary, we’ve tried everything to lift the spirits of our colleagues.

Getting trending

We’ve also got more than 30 topics trending in the top ten on social media, to both raise awareness of key issues and demonstrate public support for staff. These have included #ThanksToMyGP, #IStandWithNHSStaff and #IAmProvidingAService.

Regular campaigns

In addition, we run ongoing initiatives to keep NHS staff smiling, including #GotYourBackNHS, #LoveYourNHS and #MerryXmasNHS, which you can find out more about below.

Other initiatives

As well as that, we’ve:

  • Gained the support of more than 3,000 verified social media accounts, including countless celebrities, MPs and other influential people.

  • Created a virtual anonymity box; a safe way for staff to share their personal stories publicly.

  • Created a poster campaign to get children colouring and showing their support for staff during lockdown.

  • Partnered on a campaign to get blue hearts into every front window in the UK.

Merry Xmas NHS

One of our favourite initiatives is our annual Merry Xmas NHS campaign, which leads to thousands of messages of support and thanks for NHS staff.

We encourage everyone to share posts, pictures and videos with the hashtag #MerryXmasNHS and share as many as we can across our social media channels.

What on earth?

A simple campaign to get as many people as possible to say ‘Merry Christmas’ and ‘thank you’ to the NHS staff who are working throughout the festive period.

how many people show support?

Tens of thousands of people have got behind our campaign over the past four years, and well over 100 million people saw the hashtag #MerryXmasNHS last year alone.
